Egypt to embark on a trade mission to Kenya in October sponsored by BM


Egypt – Under the auspices of Banque Misr (BM) as the financing agency, the Egyptian Chemicals and Fertilizers Export Council — in cooperation with the Construction Materials Export Council and the Egyptian Services Bureau in Nairobi — will undertake a trade mission to Kenya from 4-6 October.

Khaled Abu Al-Makarem – Chairman of the Chemicals and Fertilizers Export Council – said around 30 companies are expected to participate in the mission, stressing that the mission will include an introductory meeting for the participating companies on the needs of the Kenyan market and laws. related to investment and trade in Kenya.

This is in addition to organizing field visits for companies to Kenyan markets to determine product prices and market needs.

In addition, it will include bilateral meetings between businessmen and companies of the two parties and field visits by Egyptian companies to their Kenyan counterparts and to the industrial zones where these companies are established.

Abu Al-Makarem has previously said that the council aims to achieve a growth rate of around 15% in the sector’s exports to Kenya in the current year.

He explained that “the Kenyan market is one of the most important African markets that the consultancy is focusing on in terms of strengthening the presence of the sector’s products on the continent and achieving the objective of increasing its exports by 20%”.

Additionally, Kenya is a landlocked country that can serve as a major center for Egyptian exports to the continent.

Egypt’s chemical exports saw an increase in the first half (1H) of this year, reaching $4.33 billion, compared to $3.21 billion in 1H 2021, an increase of 35%.
