Forsberg on the Trading Block, Bloody Blueger’s Spooky Tale

The NHL Trade Deadline is shaping up to be a candy store with dozens of big-name free agents on mid-teams. Pittsburgh Penguins center Teddy Bleuger told the heartbreaking story of a broken jaw, but doctors couldn’t find the source of the gushing blood. What the Philadelphia Flyers could get for Giroux and Filip Forsberg is the surprise trade rumor.

Side note. Be careful who you classify as an “insider” and what trade “rumors” you bite on. Just because someone puts a logo next to a player’s name doesn’t mean there are trade talks, especially for a player like Phil Kessel, who doesn’t make sense.

We’ll start with the Penguins…

Pittsburgh Hockey Now: How’s that for symmetry – Evgeni Malkin was joking Wednesday, even though his dream would be cool. He wants Sidney Crosby to assist on his 500th goal. The coaching history of the Pittsburgh Penguins.

PHN+: Blueger has shared details of his frightening ordeal after suffering a broken jaw from Brenden Dillon’s stroke. Blood was gushing out and the doctors couldn’t find the source. Read Teddy Blueger’s proof.

The Penguins also recalled Kasper Bjorkqvist on Wednesday.

NHL Trade Chatter, News & National Hockey Now

Philly (+): What has Claude Giroux been able to do with the market? Philadelphia Flyers.

Washington: Filip Forsberg was traded before – the Washington Capitals were infamously dumped in Nashville for Martin Erat. Whoops. Looks like Forsberg, who already has 26 goals this season, is back on the NHL Trade Block.

There are some big names that could be treated…

Gee, Twitter was on fire with rumor accounts claiming JT Miller would be traded in moments. Canucks general manager Patrik Allvin did his best to throw cold water on the speculation. Allvin says firmly that he is trying to keep Miller.

Allvin left a comment I’m going to write about regarding the Penguins.

Calgary: The Flames’ AGM sparked news when it said to remove Johnny Gaudreau from the block. He also won’t hit free agency, “It’s a done deal.” Gaudreau will sign with the Calgary flames.

TSN: There are a lot of defenders (but mostly lefties) at the top TSN Trade Bait Board.

Lots of D’s, and no Pittsburgh Penguins…

Sportsnet: Maple Leafs prospect Rodion Amirov diagnosed with a brain tumor.

National Hockey Now sends its unconditional support, and we’re sure we’ll be covering it on NHL ice someday soon.

San Jose: I don’t know if it’s bluster, hope or madness. the San Jose Sharks do NOT rebuild.

Montreal: I’m starting to dig these Canadians. They went through hell and back. Injuries. They lost their captain (Shea Weber) to serious injury and retirement, lost their goaltender (Carey Price) to injury and personal issues, and played without fans in a very restrictive province. GM gone. Coach gone. And like a dandelion on the sidewalk, with Marty St. Louis as coach, the Montreal Canadiens have won four consecutive victories.

Come on, you crazy Canadians.
